Moscow Russia : The international media network TV BRICS is set to host a pioneering Russia-India telebridge aimed at engaging young people with the vision, goals, and initiatives of BRICS.
The event will take place at the BRICS+ Information and Cultural Media Centre in Moscow, with a live connection to New Delhi, where students and faculty from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) — one of India’s leading research institutions — will participate.
Titled “What is BRICS?”, the session will introduce students to the alliance’s significance in shaping global politics, economics, and international cooperation. The initiative is part of the celebrations marking 60 years of the Russian Studies Centre at JNU, and will serve as the highlight of a week-long program featuring academic discussions and competitions exploring Russian language and culture.
Professor Kiran Singh Verma, Director of the Russian Studies Centre at JNU, emphasized the importance of the collaboration.
“The BRICS+ format continues to attract global attention, with several nations seeking to join in pursuit of shared development. This telebridge provides an invaluable platform for students to enhance their understanding of global cooperation and Russia’s evolving role in these initiatives,” said Verma.
The telebridge will be led by Tamara Skok, Director of the Department of Innovative Linguistic Projects at TV BRICS, and Evgeny Mishin, Head of Cooperation with South Asia and the Middle East. Together, they will guide participants through the formation, evolution, and objectives of BRICS, while fostering an interactive environment featuring discussions and a quiz on Russian vocabulary and key concepts such as solidarity, cooperation, and multipolarity.
“We aim to make this session both informative and engaging,” said Skok. “By blending intellectual dialogue with creative activities, we hope to deliver a holistic educational experience that underscores the values of mutual understanding and global unity.”
The Russia-India telebridge is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. Moscow time (3:00 p.m. New Delhi time). It marks the eighth telebridge hosted under TV BRICS’ Modern Russian project, which has previously explored topics like Russian literature, culture, and traditions, connecting students and professionals across continents.
Launched in 2007, the Modern Russian project promotes the Russian language and culture worldwide. Its educational resources are now used in more than 150 countries, serving as a key platform for international linguistic and cultural exchange.
