Smt. Kanta Naik Meets Dr. A.V. Srinivasan in Bengaluru, Discusses Skill Development and Social Initiatives
Bengaluru: Smt. Kanta Naik, Chairperson of the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC), holding Minister of State rank, met with Prof. Dr. A.V. Srinivasan in Bengaluru for an interaction focused on skill development, education, healthcare, and initiatives aimed at social empowerment.
Smt. Kanta Naik has been associated with Karnataka’s skill-development ecosystem through her role as Chairperson of KSDC. Recent initiatives under the state’s skill-development framework have included industry-academia collaborations, technology-oriented training and programmes designed to strengthen employment-ready skills among young people.
Prof. Dr. A.V. Srinivasan is associated with Sri Paripoorna Sanathana Charitable Trust and the Sri Paripoorna Sanathana Ayurveda Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre. According to his institutional profile, his work includes healthcare, education, rural development and social-service initiatives, with an emphasis on traditional and integrated systems of healthcare.
The interaction highlighted the importance of connecting skill development with education, healthcare, entrepreneurship and community development. Discussions around such cross-sector collaboration are increasingly relevant as Karnataka works to equip young people with industry-aligned skills and expand opportunities for employment and self-employment.
Karnataka has also been strengthening partnerships between government, educational institutions and industry. For example, a July 2026 collaboration involving the Telecom Sector Skill Council, Nokia and University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering in Bengaluru established a Centre of Excellence focused on areas including 5G, IoT and Artificial Intelligence. The initiative planned training for 720 students during its first year. Smt. Kanta Naik attended the MoU ceremony in her capacity as KSDC
The meeting between Smt. Kanta Naik and Dr. A.V. Srinivasan reflects the potential for wider dialogue among public institutions, educational organisations and social-service initiatives in areas that directly affect community development.
With Bengaluru continuing to serve as a major centre for technology, education, healthcare and entrepreneurship, collaborations that bring together skills, innovation, knowledge and social responsibility can contribute to broader opportunities for youth and communities across Karnataka.
