Washington, D.C. – In a forceful address at the All-In Podcast and Hill & Valley Forum AI Summit, U.S. President Donald Trump urged major tech companies to put an end to outsourcing jobs and building factories overseas — particularly in countries like India and China — and instead focus on investing in American workers and infrastructure.
“For too long, much of our tech industry pursued a radical globalism that left millions of Americans feeling distrustful and betrayed,” Trump said during the summit. “Companies like Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Amazon have benefited from American freedoms while shifting production to China, hiring from India, and shifting profits to tax havens like Ireland.”
The comments came as the president unveiled his administration’s new AI Action Plan, emphasizing American leadership in artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure. As part of this initiative, Trump signed three executive orders aimed at:
- Expediting permitting for AI infrastructure
- Boosting exports of U.S.-developed AI technologies
- Banning federal procurement of AI systems with political or ideological bias
Trump’s message to the tech industry was clear: “Be all in for America. We want you to put America first. That’s all we ask.”
Major Tech Investments Highlighted
President Trump noted that leading companies such as Meta, Amazon, Google, and Microsoft are projected to invest over $320 billion in data centers and AI infrastructure in the coming year, with Nvidia committing $500 billion over four years.
“These are colossal investments that will generate thousands of well-paying jobs — including many blue-collar positions — right here in the United States,” he said.
A Shift in Strategy
Contrasting his approach with the previous administration, Trump criticized what he called “extreme restrictions” on AI exports under President Biden, which he claims pushed U.S. allies toward China. He said his administration had repealed the “Biden diffusion rule” to open up more opportunities for American AI companies abroad.
“We created the digital age, and now we are leading the world into a golden age — powered by American energy, run on American technology, and improved by American artificial intelligence,” Trump declared.
The AI Action Plan marks a significant pivot in U.S. tech policy, emphasizing economic nationalism, domestic job creation, and reduced reliance on foreign labor and manufacturing. The message from the White House is unambiguous: America’s tech future should be built by American hands.
